This course aims to introduce students to the theoretical and practical concepts involved in mobile robotics. In the first part of the course, an overview of the elements that make up a mobile robot is provided, including both hardware (sensors, actuators, microcontrollers) and low and high-level control software. In the second part, methods of autonomous navigation for mobile robots are studied and applied. For this, the problems of localization, planning and tracking of trajectories and construction of maps of the environment are addressed. Technologies widely used today are used, such as Arduino, ROS (Robot Operating System), V-REP simulator, among others. In addition to the workshops, students must complete four group practical assignments, an individual written exam and a final project.
